The 21st century classroom is a dynamic and challenging environment that caters the needs and learning experiences which should be given to the learners.  It is a picture of a healthy and competitive venue of the teaching-learning process.

The focus of the 21st century classroom is the child that is learner-centered.  The child is an active participant during class discussion and an inquisitive member of the instruction conducted by the teacher.

On the other hand, the teacher of the 21st century is more of a facilitator of learning.  Going out from the traditional style, the teacher gives instructions for the students to work on either individually or collaboratively.  The usual discussion by the teacher is still a part of the process but the learners are part of this active execution of the lesson for the common goal of learning.

The 21st century instruction aims in developing higher order thinking skills, effective communication skills, collaboration skills, making adept with the use of  technology and all other skills.

Teachers practically develop new teaching strategies that are radically different from those employed in the traditional ones.  The modern day classroom should be more centered on students and teachers and should take the role of guides instead of being mere providers of knowledge.

Teachers engage their students in learning and provide an effective instruction using a variety of instructional methods and following different pedagogical approaches aided with technological advances.

In addition, a 21st century classroom must entail the following characteristics and elements namely: real student-centric, modern computing devices, evidence of active learning, apparent adaptive learning, stimulating and motivating  environment, pupils adhere and follow the rules and procedures in the class, high respect to each other, students accept responsibility of their learning, quality performance-based assessments, and collaborative and cooperative learning.

The proper development and extreme enhancement of learning in the classroom are being realized.  Truly, the 21st century classroom is the real picture of the modern education.

As a teacher, you have to be familiar with the qualities of a model classroom in order to attain a better teaching-learning result.
