In 21st Century Learning, students use educational technologies to apply knowledge to new situations, analyze information, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions. Utilizing emerging technologies to provide expanded learning opportunities is critical to the success of future generations. Improved options and choice for students will help improve student completion and achievement.
According to Nancy Blaire, dramatic shift is sweeping through our schools wherein students were engaged in gadgets. High school students were addicted to cellphones. Kindergaten pupils navigate better in Ipod than we do. Most of them have access to internet and have their own Facebook accounts.
The new 21st century learners are highly relational and demand quick access to new knowledge. With the world literally at their fingertips, todays’ students need teachers to re-envision the role of technology in the classroom.
