The school is the place where a child’s personality and future is moulded. The holistic development of pupils is given great value in this venue. Teachers are the important characters in the process of shaping these school children physically, mentally, socially, morally, emotionally and spiritually.
Because a teacher was once a good child who really knows the value of education to one’s life, he understands how this could bring difference not only to his life but also to others. Consequently, he would do everything just to justify himself according to his job. He devotedly performs the five -letter verb found in the name of his profession – to teach. He never knows how to get exhausted and worn out. The only thing that runs in his mind is how he can bring the children to the paradise of understanding each bit of knowledge that makes up the complexity of this world.
The life of a teacher seems so pathetic. He deprives himself the few things he can afford to make himself happy. He forgets even his own welfare. He shares the only food he has to eat or spends the only time he can rest. There are times that he doesn’t know that his body collapses little by little. The teacher only realizes that he is at the middle of a plight when he reaches the dead end.
Behind this cammed story of his existence, he still proceeds on what his profession and principle suggest – to continuously educate the heart, the mind and the hand of the so many children that await him. He will offer the only hope left to him. The teacher is a candle of stewardship – he who consumes himself to give light to others.
