A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

Life is how we look at it. The global pandemic has punched in damage in almost all areas of life. The normal way of daily living we knew is being altered with protocols of how things are to be done. When it comes to enforcement, it is literally the “whether we like it or not” statement. The proper observance of health protocols involves social distancing, wearing of facemasks, and regular washing of hands in line with discipline. When taken intimately, it can also mean as a “whether we like it or else” reminder.

When normal activities are suddenly changed struggle is imminent and inevitable. The national state of health emergency was further aggravated by the visit of super typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. The series of flooding, soil erosion and damage to farm crops devastated not only the habitat and living condition of Filipinos more than that many hearts were in gloom because of the series of life-threatening events. In spite of the predicament, the resiliency of the Filipino as a people has again turn the tide of life into a positive perspective. There were losses, there were lives taken, yes so much have been taken away but the spirit of hope is likened to a flickering light that will not die down.

Faith makes up for the weariness and desperation that many felt, through it, strength was drawn to revitalize the inner spirit of man. Serving as momentum, the reliable virtues that Filipinos possess came to life again. The bayanihan spirit bannered the cooperation from all sectors of the society. As one nation, compassion stood out in giving whatever help can be provided to those who have fallen victims of bad fate. No more was regionalism that separates local folks for centuries.

Time and again, when put to the test that has many times sent people to dire straits, the citizens of the Philippines never fail to take pride in nationalism that is inherent in them. Distinct is the national pride that has compassion in it. Dependable and assuring, it completely negates the perception that our folks are less capable when it comes to providing uncorrupted service    to their fellowmen.

Harsh times, ordeals, struggles, and strife will not be able to pin down good men for long. For always we will be able to see the different perspective in the nature of Filipinos when the challenges of life come to a no holds barred situation. So be it, enter the heroes.
