“LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND”, this is one of the most famous quotes everyone can hear. But what do we really mean by the word LOVE in this quote? Is it a mere guy and girl relationship? Is it the comfortable silence between friends? Is it a mere attraction for someone? Or even a sexual attraction for the opposite or sometimes even with the same gender?
For this article I will tell you the 5concepts I have with the word “LOVE”.
Let us start with the first one, which I would like to call “UNCONDITONAL LOVE”in my personal opinion this is the kind of love that most people wants to have or experience since this kind of love sees beyond the outer appearance of a person, and accepts that person regardless of his lapses, weaknesses, and even his shortcomings. It is the type of love that everyone strives to have and feel. This kind of love expresses sacrifices as well as giving and expecting nothing in return. The only problem with this is that there will come a time that you will feel that you already gave everything to that person to the point that you already forgot to love yourself. To the point wherein all you will think are the things that are good for him but you will not able to see the effect of these things to yourself.
The next one is “FAITHFUL LOVE”, it is the kind of love that we are most familiar with, and it is characterized by romance, infatuation, crushes and even sexual desires. In my perspective, this kind of love is the most dangerous since you will do everything and anything just to have that person that you wanted on the other hand it is also the love that we chase wholeheartedly. It consumes us completely and defies any kind of logic.
Going to the next kind of love, I would like to call this as “ETERNAL LOVE”, this is the most special kind of love,it is a prevailing and undying love, and it describes a relationship in which a parent cares for a child. The parents love their child as they are, they will not do any decisions that will harm them, though sometimes they can be quite controlling but they are just showing their child that they really care for them so much. A parent with this kind of love, will sacrifice everything for their child, and will ask nothing in return.
The fourth one is “CONNECTION LOVE”, it describes the shared sense of warmth we have with our siblings or close friends. It’s sincere and platonic, and mutually beneficial. This kind of love is undying and will be willing to risk everything just to help you out and be a good friend. These relationship is authentic, intimate and secure.
Lastly this kind of love is the most important out of all. This is no other than “SELF–LOVE”, it is the kind of love that we have for ourselves. Truly, this is where all other love begins. When our relationship with ourselves is strong, all the other love in our live seems to fall into place. But be warned that this kind of love is divided into two. The first part is a sort of fake love, similar to arrogance and narcissism. It involves a taste for money, power and fame. This kind of love is defined by inclination to put oneself before the greater good. On the other hand, a healthy self-love is characterized by self-esteem, confidence, and a commitment to care for ourselves. It allows us to direct ourselves out into the world around us.
To sum it all up. There is no single way to love one another and there is no such thing as the perfect love. Every kind of love has their advantages and flaws but we must remember that the way we interpret and show these love will determine if it can help us or if it will ruin us.
