On my second year as a school administrator, a friend gave me a booklet ( biblicard ) entitled “ FOR THE LEADER’S HEART ). There are passages that really touch my heart. Let me share some of them to you.
1. A leader is a servant. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be a servant.
– A s a leader of an educational institution, we must be kind to everyone. We have to teach effectively and be patient in dealing with different people and situations. We have to be ready to give service at all times. Let us give and offer service to everyone and don’t wait to be served.
2. A leader serves out of love.
– Let us serve wholeheartedly as if we were serving the Lord. I f we love our work everything will be worth it and fulfilling.
3. A leader is patient.
– A patient man has a great understanding. Being patient, refrain us from anger. It will give us time to weigh and analyze every situation before coming up for a decision. Patience, leads us to be tame and approachable.
4. A leader is a good steward. From everyone who has given much, much will be demanded and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much will be asked.
– We always heard about principal empowerment. From the word power, a lot are expected from us. We were given so much responsibility and trust to lead our respective station. With this so much trust given to us so much is also expected from us. Let us give our best to serve our people.
-Fellow educators, I hope these passages inspired us. Always remember a wise leader stays calm; as we serve let’s think that we are serving God, and we will never go wrong.
