Sadness, being sensitive, moody and being a worrier: these are some things that we feel because of a major depressive disorder called Depression. It is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness, anger, or loss of interest. But what do you think are the reasons why people experience depression? There are many reasons why people are being depressed. It may be because of the society, problems, restlessness or sadness, and hopelessness.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that of all illnesses, depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. According to the latest estimates from WHO, more than 300 million people are now living with depression. Depression and anxiety are prevalent problems in schools across the country. Students experience many firsts, including a new lifestyle, friends, roommates, exposure to a new culture and experiences. Students may struggle if they can’t manage these firsts. If students aren’t prepared to cope, they come become easily susceptible to depression and anxiety.
Nowadays, depression is the common problem of humans especially teenagers. It is unusual and unhealthy for young people to feel down and stressed out at their age. And because of being depressed, lots of teenagers were committing suicide where they forgot the importance of life. Depression is serious and if left untreated, it can worsen to the point of becoming a life-threatening. If you know someone who have depression, support and listen to them. It’s one way to help them from suffering.
Everyone can be a victim of depression and it is not a joke. It’s a serious case were we, people need to understand and make a way to avoid it. All people experience hard situations in their lives where they start to overthink and down themselves. Before it’s too late, let’s enjoy, think positive, and live a happy life!
