For the past two years, our country or even the whole world has been mired in not one
deep crisis but three: a pandemic, an economic meltdown, and one of the most fraught emotional
battles— anxiety and depression that most of us surely facing. Dealing with all of this has
dominated much of our energy, attention and more of our emotions but one thing I’m sure about
is that these world’s struggles and people’s emotional instability gave me too much lessons and
one of those is appreciating every little moment we spend with our family for life is so
unpredictable and only God knows when our lives be done in this world. One of the important
things I learned is the importance of family and knowing that we have each other during this
difficult time. Having those precious moments with them and having someone to talk to
whenever you feel worried because of what is happening is indeed a grateful one.
Another thing is the togetherness and closeness we have built is wonderful. The mere fact
that we spend more time eating together and chatting with each other that we do not usually do
during those normal days because we are somewhat preoccupied of different tasks is such a
blessing. Now, I can say that I really value my family and I am so thankful that I have them.
Having a stronger faith in God is another lesson that this pandemic taught me. At times
that I was having emotional problem caused by fear, worry, and loneliness I did nothing but
pray, pray, and pray.
I believe that God is in control of everything. That He will work all things for good. That
He will not let this pandemic ruin everything. That sooner this crisis will end. I lifted to Him all
my fears and worries. And I trust everything to Him.
Being stable and having a savings during this crisis is a must. This is also a lesson to me.
This is one of the things I am thankful for especially when the government announced the
Community Quarantine and you have to buy and store foods for your family.
I remember when I was watching news about those fellow countrymen who weren’t able
to go to their work and didn’t have enough money to feed their families. It is so painful. I can’t
help but to think, what if my family is in the same situation? What will I do? But super blessed
that we survived that kind of situation.
It is indeed that Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes in our lives and gave us
so much threat and fear but despite this let us be thankful that we are still here and we are
somehow recovering from this bad dream. most importantly, let us always remember the things
that this crisis taught us and that we have God who will never forsake us.
