As a Science teacher, I can be passionate about a lot of things. But what I am most passionate about is my dedication to impart knowledge to my students.
This is what fuels my desire to go on, every single, with my chosen vocation. Simply put, I love to teach, and I love to teach Science –
When our students listen to us and they learn what we teach them, this motivates us to reach our ultimate goal – that is, to see our students be successful individuals.
After all the seminars we have to go through, all the meetings, all the memos we have to abide by, at the end of the day, what matters is our desire to impart knowledge to the students.
Are we well rewarded for our efforts? Yes we are, although we don’t make much in this field. But this does not stop us from wanting to make a difference in the lives of our students.
Surprisingly, the low salaries of teachers in the country, and the lack of equipment, classrooms and even manpower, do not stop professionals from flocking to this field. What apparently attracts them to the teaching profession is the power to teach kids what is necessary for them to conquer the world, so to speak.
Teachers also experience despair when their students are not willing to learn. They also feel burned out, drained of all their energy, because of all the hours they put in inside and outside of class to be of service to the children.
In this time when education is changing and evolving, society needs teachers who are more than willing to just teach – teachers with passion and teachers with heart.
