The Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teachers in the secondary were the ones that must be ready for that sudden change. Every learning area should prepare facilities, modules as well as knowledge that are suitable and enough for the fast-changing education of the archipelago.
COOKERY. One of the most cliché yet important course offered in most high schools in the country. It teaches numerous tools and equipment in cooking; so that the students are now capable in differentiating ‘which is which’ to avoid confusion. It also deals on the fact that through this, the youths are knowledgeable enough in the first place – just before the time wherein they will acquire information on a much higher level.
Aside from that, the students will also obtain such skill with regards of mensuration. They will learn or at least hone their craft in reading and getting a certain measurement. It may be a bit hard, but with the aid of the teacher, modules and tools, the possibility of gaining expertise on it can be a reality.
Meanwhile, cookery also practices sanitation. We all know that sanitation is a major issue when it comes on this subject – since it focuses on food-making as well as cooking tools. That is why the term “Follow the rules.” and the word cleanliness and discipline are well-observed. So it clearly shows that this learning area does not only concentrate in academics but also on the youth’s values and attitudes.
Lastly, it also shares information with regards on the different delicacies that were introduced how to cook later on. And by that, the students can have an idea to earn money in the future via venturing into business.
Those are some of the countless advantage of the K to 12’s curriculum in TLE.
This is only the start. It will act as a stepping stone for the improvement of the Filipino youth’s lives. For the reason that few years from now, there will be a new set of generation that are courageously striving and aiming towards the country’s peak of prosperity.
