Can you imagine a world without papers? From the earliest years of innovation, there were papers. The discovery of papyrus pave way to one of the most incredible discovery of man known to us as papers. A powerful weapon man use to bring change recreate the world. From a piece of paper we can do so many things; immortalized our thoughts would be the best example. Putting our ideas into written words make all abstract things concrete. Laws that keep peace and order, protect its every subject, bring hope and light were written in papers to make it part of a land’s constitution. That’s how magnificent papers are. Men without paper is like a soul without body. Thoughts which not written in papers will soon be forgotten. Papers are indispensable recorder of our history. And we know without history we will not know why and how we exist. These are only some of papers’ importance to men.
I couldn’t agree more in the idea that paper is an essential tool in businesses, schools and offices. As an office staff for so many years, I know that I need to know that “Papers are our comrades”. We deal with them every single minute; carrying vital information that makes the department work. So in this in mind, we must be able to work with papers effectively and efficiently. Many advocates push the idea of paperless transactions and cashless transactions. And the situation in our time today makes this advocacy a necessity. The outbreak of the CoVid-19 pandemic opens the dynasty of paperlessness. People need limited contacts that will be a way to spread the deadly virus. Communication will be virtual where paper doesn’t have a place.
Furthermore, when reality and change penetrates in, papers will soon be vanished. Today, the world enters a new era—an era of paperlessness. A world that will be written in softcopies. Information nowadays were preferred to be in flash drives, e-mails, ebooks- were papers do not matter. Yes, it provides so many advantages, from the perspective of an environmentalist this marks a generation of more trees because we don’t have to cut trees to make papers. Sounds a good thing for our fight against Climate Change. But do you think a world without paper would actually exist? A world without paper planes that make children smile? A world without a diary that keeps record of our childhood? A world without newspapers every morning thrown at our doors? These are some of the things we will miss if there will be no papers. Information can be delivered in the screens of our phones, ipads, and laptops. Everything will be pixels and not inks anymore. We have to adapt but are we ready?
Now the question is can you live in the world without papers?
