There are few students who seem to appreciate the beauty of Mathematics. It is generally accepted fact that most of them hate the subject despite that it is very interesting. They do not believe Mathematics is essential to living a modern life. Most of them finds the subject boring, uninteresting and their worst subject. As a teacher, we know that students believe that we made them hate Math. They also blame us for their struggles and confusion in learning Mathematics. But, being on the position, we can find or be the cure for that negative image and start making them motivated on the subject.
Below are some tips on how to teach Math more interesting. It will also guide us how to enrich and engage students in different activities.
MAKE MATH ENJOYABLE
There are a lot of things how we can make Math enjoyable. We can make a math songs or make a math poem. It is very helpful for the process of learning. Your strategy must be fun and enjoyable. You should teach the students in laughing mood so that students will be confident in asking questions they do not understand.
MAKE MATH SIMPLE AND EASY
First, a teacher must remove all bad fears regarding learning Math. Try to teach every students step by step procedure for better understanding. There are a lot of ways to teach Math, but you should use only the simplest and easiest way to teach. If all of the ways are difficult, then it is time to find a new way.
MAKE MATH STUDENTS LEARN BY TEACHING
A technique that is very effective in building confidence and knowledge. A new method of learning. You will be able to choose 3 – 5 bright students in your class and taught them. After this, those students will teach other students. By doing this, they will learn many new things with self-confidence.
MAKE MATH A TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTER BASED
It is very important that you make your topic or lesson interesting. One way is by the use of technology. You can make animated and interesting slides in PowerPoint for step by step teaching. You can also make a video presentation to discuss some topics. Also, you can video tape a resource speaker to discuss another topic. This kind of method can surely make your students interested with the subject matter.
