When I started teaching “Accounting” as one of the specialized subject in ABM strand, and began focusing on the development of my learners critical thinking skills about the subject.  I always discussed ideas for a research topic  and integrate it with other subjects.

I recall what and how my students will react about the project, but I can’t afford to see my learners to sit and think all day”. I know that today’s accountants are increasingly called on to address new types of problems in complex environments by contextualizing and applying it in a real-life situation.

Unfortunately, as critical thinking goes, most of my students graduated with only some critical thinking skills but not all .. which is expected to require even more critical thinking ability in the future if they want to be a real CPA.

The bottom line of this is that I need to help my accounting students to end the gap between their present critical thinking skills and the skills they will need for their future, successful CPA. How can I do this or how can I help them?

“Account-think”, I made this project to give a chance and let my learners to be more creative in their own way.  In this project I provide specific recommendations to help students to improve their critical thinking  about their accounting subject. Providing a working definition of critical thinking in the accounting subject and explaining the “stages or steps” of critical thinking that most my senior high students will pass through, in discussing critical thinking tasks incorporate in a specific way, and offer other related accounting task and suggestions for creating more effective learning activities. “Account-think”  is designed to help my students progress from one step of critical thinking to the next.

“Account-think” a project-made in short is, self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored, and self-corrective thinking that  entails effective communication and Accounting problem-solving abilities for all learners. A big way to become an “ACCOUNTANT -CRITICAL THINKER”.
