What is ALIVE in ALS?

It is a Nonformal Education program of the ALS for Muslim migrants who have left their homes due to peace and order problems and have moved to urban centers to live and work.

Why is it necessary to have a program for Muslim migrants?

In a survey conducted among Muslim communities in Metro Manila, it was found that many of the migrants have no knowledge of the basic tenets of the Muslim religion and the values of Islam. Probing into this situation, it was found that this was primarily due to the fact that they could not read the Koran since it is written in Arabic language. It is felt that these Muslim migrants should not lose their identity as Moslems and the values that their religion advocates. Likewise, the survey revealed that most of them are basically illiterate. These are the reasons for having ALIVE in ALS.

Who are the Facilitators of the program?
