School days… a time for preparation of school materials, examinations, paper checking and a lot of uncontrollable mixed emotions.

Sometimes, we come to a point of refusing all the works that should be done at that very moment. So as I take each day as it passess, I ask myself if this is my task forever especially because I chose this fileld in teaching, and I will reply back to myself, maybe yes, maybe no, a couple of whatever’s.

But this doesn’t satisfy me. Often I find myself searchng for an answer. And to this, my personal views are revealed. A painter or an artist does his work alone, standing still and sitting while watching the sunset he is about to paint. Turning to a different situation is a mechanic trying to fix the complicated parts of an engine. A workaholic businessman, going here and abroad, aims to gain more success for his future. These hardworking people put a mask on to cover their real purpose for working. However, we have a lot of purposes in doing our tasks.

Most people work to support their family and meet their everyday necessities. They work for love and dignity. Surprisingly, some take the job for the thrill and just for the fun of it.

These are the fortunate people who do not have to work overtime in order to get more money. They are obviously not after the monetary gains but for the experience they will get out of it. Others perform their job to the point of neglecting themselves, forgetting how to smile, and relax for awhile. These kind of people aim for compliment, promotion and self-progress.

To sum it all up, each of us handle different duties of different specialization for a goal. It is indeed a good sign of resisting the endless laziness and stubbornness in our minds that no one will be left behind. And whether we work for self-fulfillment or not, we should not bother to think about it because we’re doing it for our family, and for the whole society, particularly for the children who look up to us as a perfect role model.

So my dear colleagues, we must not behave as if we are following the bandwagon of doing nothing. Life is like a film, we’ll never know what happens next. So, for as long as we have the wisdom, freedom and capacity to work, we should live a quality life and make it worthwhile. Just be assured that in everything we do, it will be for the better, and we should offer them first and foremost to God. To God because these responsibilities that we have, the luxuries that we enjoy, and everything that is essential to us do not necessarily mean the greates dream we have to attain. We should not aim to be on top to be able to dominate the rest, instead, I think it is God’s will for us to know how to love, live, lose and learn through Him. A process to remind us all the Creator Himself made His own plans from the very moment we were born.
