Life is an incessant process of starting and ending. It sounds paradox, but it’s true that there are many instances in our lives we start and end, and there are that have remained unfinished; goals that we were not able to give full attention. Envisage all those unrestrained courses, professional goals, fitness goals, missions, assignments, pioneering ideas and even those typed messages that were never came to reality. Even worse, imagine the foiling of keen-sighting a veer of fragmentary projects after many years of adjournment.
In this life everything is not meant to be finished, hence many of us have box of unfinished tasks. Sometimes we realize that we’ve dreamt our lives away – finding less than what we intended for.
The principle of procrastination comes in and it can be truly exasperating. However, in some cases, delaying or quitting projects can be a deliberate strategy. According to Steve Jobs, “Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.” And with this approach, he transformed many aspects of life.
For instance, I have been teaching in Alternative Learning System (ALS) for over a decade. This is the system of education where many people with unfinished educational goal come together. There those who had tremendous struggles in life that made them stopped schooling. Hence, they see ALS as their way to get back to track and be able to acquire a diploma leading to brighter future. In this manner, the ALS is a venue for those who cannot adapt and adjust to formal schooling like going to school five times in a week, submitting numerous requirements and performing different tasks. Likewise, ALS caters different point of view wherein people with unfinished educational goals see the light that is very reachable.
The moral we can acquire from this is to find our focus and get back to track of achieving our goals in life whether in education, career, business, etc. Take the time to redirect on your main concern and instil within yourself self-discipline to revolutionize your life.
