Teaching is a noble and respected profession that comes with a significant degree of responsibility and obligation toward the learners. Teachers do not only instruct their students and pass on their information, but they also serve to inspire and encourage their pupils to take significant steps in life. They continue their efforts to improve the learners’ sense of self-assurance and guide them in the proper route. There were many educators who devoted their whole lives to enhancing the lives of their pupils by helping them become better people and achieving greater levels of success in their daily endeavors.
Unfortunately, many of educators have reached their breaking point because of the strain of their workload and the overwhelming problems that arise in today’s education. Behind those smiles of a teacher, is a hidden pain and exhaustion not only in the schoolwork but also in all aspects of teaching.
In school, a teacher is a mother who devoted her time to taking good care of her learners, a mother who wants to give her offspring the best things in life, to the point that she eagerly wants to provide them with learnings that they will bring on their future endeavors. Also, a teacher is sometimes a student, who is thirsty for knowledge because all she wants is to learn new ideas that she can share with her learners. These are some of the many roles of teachers that bring them joy, but since they are just humans, it also gives them exhaustion.
Indeed, one good tap on the back saying “Thank you Teacher” is one of the great antidotes for our exhausted teachers. Though compensation for teachers may not be as high as the other profession, their work is just as vital. Teachers need validation and praise because of the stress and strain they endure in the classroom. It’s important for them to hear that their efforts are appreciated so that they may maintain their enthusiasm and passion for teaching.
