Teachers are said to be the most revered individual in the society. This is a fact because teachers possess such admirable qualities far beyond the others.  They are known for being righteous, thus they are considered ethical.

Honesty, confidentiality, impartiality, fairness, compassion and discreetness are the proofs of his/her being ethical.

Honesty.  An ethical teacher is honest. He/she always tells the truth and gives emphasis to openness and truthfulness.  He/she leads the child to protect his/her integrity in order to become a better individual.

Confidentiality.  An ethical teacher is well-trusted.  He keeps things that need to be kept for a specific reason.  Learners and other people can confide with him/her and will protect their secrecy as long as it won’t bring the others any risk or harm.  It is said that a teacher could be your best friend.

Impartiality.  An ethical teacher must be just or fair.  He/she should not favor any side.  He/she is objective in dealing with matters whether a problem or a simple argument.  He/she always listens to both sides and gives fair judgment.

Fairness.  In connection with impartiality, the teacher must be a fair individual most especially to his/her learners. There should be no favoritism and everyone in the class must be treated equally.

Compassion. An ethical leader must have a soft heart for others.  He/she should understand the conditions of others. He/she must give a helping hand in times of needs and troubles.

Discreetness.  This is marked by showing and exercising prudence and wise self-restraint in speech and behavior.  Teachers are known for being careful in words and in deeds.  In addition, professionals like teachers think first for so many times before saying something and doing an action.

These are the traits that will describe an ethical teacher.
