To the mind, to the body, to the experiences, to nature or not to be, which will you choose? There are numerous ideologies to choose from that dramatically change education all over the world. But why there’s still an uneducated child? Are these just parts of the professional education subjects that teachers are required to read and study?

Teach them well and let them lead the way; this lyric of a song appears to be the ultimate goal of every teacher. How this will be achieved? That is when the teacher’s philosophy intercedes. The beliefs and principles of a teacher molded the leaders that we have today. Even though there are ideologies to adapt to, it will still boil down to the teacher’s judgment of what is good and essential in teaching. Reviewing these ideologies makes me think again if my philosophy in teaching is aligned with its perspective. Teaching every child, the basic skills and good values are what teachers are expected to accomplish. Some teachers may not be that passionate about molding children what society expects them in a very idealistic fashion but most teachers can assure that they can make them a functional citizen imbued with good values. There will be no single ideology that will fit any classroom. It is always a mixture of everything to balance with the diversity of learners and teachers’ own beliefs. These ideologies are suggestive because if all teachers and administrators followed some or all of these then there will be no uneducated child.

Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be… Indeed, happiness is the ultimate goal of man, the same thing in teaching and learning. Happiness comes when there is what we called a “change”, a positive change in behavior, knowledge, and skills in both teacher and learner. These ideologies are not just written in books but deep within each mentor’s mind and soul. It may not be that visible but it will be inscribed in every learner forever.
