Human beings by nature are creative. Since individuals by themselves are creative, they are prone to engage in arts.

Remember that art is made by persons aided by art materials, tools and skills, and shaped by their creativity and imagination. No matter how close art is to nature, the human mind, heart and hands are the one’s that shape art.

In making art, what is really important is the subject matter. Once the students knows his subject matter he will be looking for mediums or art material to realize his art. Before a student can make a wirk of art, he has to know how to manipulate the art mediums of his choice. However, art mediums vary in form and functions.

In painting, the student may use oil, watercolor, acrylic, poster paint, fresco or tempera. In sculpture, the student uses wood, plaster, marble, clay and other tactile materials. In architecture, student uses heavy marble and stones, glass and steel.

In visual arts, like drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, various art mediums are used.

Good to mention in their article, the Exchange Teacher Program of the Asian countries. Last year in the months of September, October, November and December, a Korean named Son Hee Rak was assigned in BNHS. During stay here, he studied Philippine art and culture. He in turn, taught the students Korean art and culture.

Teacher Reagan, the name given to son Hee Park also learned our folkdances, he explored so much our native dances. So with our native dishes. Curiously, he introduced to BNHS teachers and students the Korean dishes particularly Ramen.

His short stay in BNHS, according to Teacher Reagan was indeed worthwhile. In fact, he is a reservist in their country, Seoul Korea.

So, it goes to say art varies in different countries but the art mediums used are almost the same.

We experienced this with Teacher Reagan.
