Times are becoming harder and harder every day. Challenges and conflicts are likened to cell division. From simple one to magnified version. Some individuals are weak in accepting problems more so in finding solutions or remedy.
One particular organization that is challenge and conflict-laden is the Department of Education. Problems may be coming from learners, co-workers, school managers, other stakeholders and even the community. But don’t worry, for all you know, there’s always a good side of a problem. I am certain that these challenges and conflicts will turn into positive situations in the organization, as Stephen Covey emphasized “ turn lemons into lemonades” There are some affirmation technique or strategies to acquire positive element out of a negative element. Rather than be discouraged affirm that the solution is already in your hands. Instead of brooding all day and all night, take all the necessary steps to solve problems.
Look for your best friends, colleagues, superiors, parents and stakeholders, communicate with them, and who knows, the solutions are there waiting for you. Meanwhile, don’t forget that life in this world is a big stage. You are one of the actors. It depends on you how you look up to your problems.
Lastly be a friend of your own self. Try to know yourself better. The problems you think are sufferings are actually the problems that will open the doors for you. So stand, rise, and face the challenges, pain, tribulations and conflict. Who knows they convey positive elements to you. Just analyze what is really happening and interpret the real situations.
For instance, consistent low Mean Percentage Score (MPS) every National Achievement Test (NAT) is an indication there is something wrong in the teaching-learning situation of the school. Therefore, the teacher must consider doing the following: training and seminars for teachers, bench marking of best practices, using motivational and creative strategies in teaching showing of genuine love of teachers to children, passion and discipline for teaching and value-laden attitude in dealing with the learners.
We all encounter problems, let us hope that all these challenges and conflicts be blessings in disguise to all of us.
