Augmenting Quality Education: Master’s a Must Have

The ability to learn is one of the most important developments of our species. Learning, henceforth should not be stagnant, it should be flowing that it nourishes every individual it passes. Moreover, if we, educators are the sole source of erudition we have to be a cut way above our students in order to be effective educators.

And since teaching is a dynamic, steadily evolving craft, a continuing education program for teachers is needed to keep up with global educational standards. In fact, no less than the highest court in the land has set an academic benchmark for teachers.    

The Supreme Court (SC) has upheld the policy of the Commission on Higher Education requiring teachers of tertiary schools to acquire post-graduate degrees to become tenured or regular employees (http://newsinfo.inquirer.net). In agreement, it is really not “unreasonable” for the SC to mandate profs especially in the tertiary to have its faculty members, a Master Education.

If not with this rule, shall we let ourselves in to the program? If the answer is high sounding YES, well, definitely you are a CERTIFIED KNOWLEDGE DESIGNER i.e. you have the strong desire to acquire sensible cognition moreover, positively influence and educate learners!

Paradoxically, here are some distasteful motives that some have in pursuing their Master’s Degree: (1.) Promotion (2.) Elevate oneself egoistically and (3.) security of tenure.

Motives 1 and 3 are practically accepted still let us not forget the essence of instilling data with caliber. Do away with Motive (2), for possessing and influencing values is one of our must-haves dispositions.

Vast changes have occurred in education chiefly in its technical know-how, our only position is to jive into these changes and prove that WE can make a difference.
