Have you seen the Bataan World War II (BWW II) Museum located at the Balanga  ElementarySchool Compound, Jose P. Rizal St. Balanga, Bataan?

            The museum with the battle cry, “A Pledge to Peace”, a “Symbol of Courage”, “A Tribute to Heroes of the Battle for Bataan”, is a “must see” not only for teachers but also for the entire school.

            This museum is a private initiative of HAS Club of Balanga Foundation made possible by sources and contributions from the city of Balanga, Balanga Elementary School, Government Agencies, NGO’s, Corporations, Individuals and international Institutions, Volunteerism as exemplified by the Bataan Retired Teachers  and Employees Association (BARTEA) drives the daily operations.         

            The significance of the battle for Bataan in 1942 need not be lost to our youth. admiration for heroes and love for our country are essential in building a strong nation.

            The Bataan Death March is depicted in a diorama composed of more than 120 dolls that will show the indescribable experience that our patriots had to endure.

The sacrifice of our soldiers and the role of the townspeople in giving relief to the captive heroes will add more meaning to big words like patriotism, freedom, courage and resilience in celebrating ArawngKagitingan every year.

Teachers who are teaching Social Studies, particularly Kasaysayan, will impart to the students in authentic teaching strategy through a visit to the museum, at the same time feel the tough and taxing experiences that their ancestors experienced during those times.
