There are the various ways to show one’s commitment to the school and to the profession. Teachers should learn to inculcate and imbibe such commitment in order to be considered as a real teacher. The commitment of a teacher may be manifested in the following ways:
- Has a strong belonging to the school. A committed teacher is someone who feels that he/she belongs to the school. He/she is personally attached to it and considers it as his/her second family.
- Solves school problems. A committed teacher should be instrumental in resolving school problems. The brilliant mind and kind heart of a teacher are enough to serve as powers to settle situations for the betterment of the entire school.
- Enjoys one’s work. A committed teacher enjoys the company of people in school. He/she treats everyone as his/her own. He/she finds beauty and gladness to the people that he/she deals with.
- Always loyal to the school. A committed teacher is loyal to the institution where he/she works. He/she shows allegiance to the school by protecting its good image and valuing its concerns.
- Stays in the school. A committed teacher stays in a particular school. He/she first thinks that he/she has to contribute to the school first and serve it for enough time before considering another one. As a teacher, you have to show your worth and render your service before transferring to another station.
- Follows the school policies religiously. A committed teacher follows the school policies to the best that he/she can. He/she never fails to abide with the rules and conform to the standards as set by the school.
- Be proud of the school. A committed teacher is very much confident in the school where he/she belongs. He/she is proud of the school’s aspirations and achievements.
- Upholds the school’s mission and vision. A committed teacher upholds the picture of the school’s future and the educational objectives that the school are aspiring to achieve.
- Works for others not only just for oneself. A committed teacher is not only thinking of himself or herself but is working to direct others and to give them what they deserve to acquire most especially for the students.
- Lives with the school values. A committed teacher should consider and imbibe the values of the school. In this way, he/she will be able to fit himself/herself to the school norms, ethics and principles.
So, be a committed teacher. It is what people expect from us.
