To be a real teacher is not just a simple process. It entails an optimistic transformation in order to be considered as a genuine educator. So, be hopeful in attaining this goal.
First and foremost you must have a vision for yourself. Have a serious and profound thought that you really have to become one. Have your dream that you have to be a real teacher not only in thought but also in deed. Remember, dream to be an efficient and effective teacher.
Secondly, know your mission. What are the valuable things that you need to attain. What are the worthwhile activities and undertakings that you need to carry out not for your own sake but for the benefits of your learners. Remember, do things not for yourself but do things for others, for their development and productivity.
Third, set your specific objectives. You must manifest in the simplest yet meaningful ways the development of the skills and competencies of your learners. Remember, they have to learn and grasp the knowledge they deserve to have.
Fourth, be aware of the latest trends. As a teacher, you must answer to the requirements and demands of education and of the society. You have to employ the best ways that will make education be more catchy and stimulating. Remember, be updated.
Fifth, be open for suggestions. Our educational clientele have fresh and inquisitive mind. Learn to listen to their thoughts and insights. Be willing to hear their sides for you to adjust yourself to their likes and preferences. Remember, young people are idealistic.
Sixth, continue to grow. Have more trainings, more seminars, more benchmarkings and more researches. These are worthwhile endeavors to uplift your craft and spirit as a teacher. Have more advanced and higher education to be more productive. Remember, it is good to be professionally prepared and trained.
Seventh, listen to the community. Having a strong partnership with the parents and community can be very much fulfilling and rewarding. Having people with you in accomplishing your mission, vision and objectives as teachers will be more inspiring if you have these wonderful people helping you. Remember, it’s nice if you have your back up support.
Contemplating on these will aid you in becoming a real and positive teacher. Kindly realize that the profession you are performing is requiring so much genuine and positive expectations from the community. So, it is only proper that you have to be at your best. \
Remember, teachers are the most admired and most revered members in our society. Be a real and positive teacher in word and in deeds…absolutely right!
