Heatstroke occurs when your body temperature reaches 40 degree Celsius or 104 degree Fahrenheit, a dangerous aside from exposure to high temperature, it is also caused by dehydration and too much physical activity. The body becomes too hot and is unable to release the heat. Normally the ,body sweats to cool itself but if you’re dehydrated your body can’t produce enough sweat.
Unluckily heat stroke doesn’t happen suddenly. Being aware of how it develops helps to prevent from developing, added Dr. Tayag. “If a person feels thirsty and no longer sweat it means that he is already developing heat stroke.
This summer 2016 too much heat cover our archipelago because we are suffering from El Niño, that’s why 40-52 degree Fahrenheit can be felt all way down by human being. In fact, that is indeed the hottest time according to DOH do not stay outside 10 am to 2pm when the sun in the hottest point.
Just sitting on a car park or just around the corner with no air conditioning can cause heat stroke. You can easily google online for cases in Philippines and of United States of children and pets dying inside locked car on a sunny day.
Luckily heat stroke can’t happen suddenly, being aware how it develops to the present it may prevent if we are about to know the different knowledge’s about heat stroke.
According to some advisory the first sign of heat stroke begins with sign of heat exhaustion. Warning signs also includes a feeling of dizziness, headache, fist breathing and muscle cramping. If this sign are to be ignored the person condition may worsen towards a full blown heatstroke.
Prevention is best cure by staying in the shade, avoid too much physical activity and wear loose made cotton clothing and most of all drink enough water more than 8 glasses a day.
