June is the month when we start teaching. All children are excited to meet new friends, and teachers. They are ready to face again the hardship for one year’s struggle; likewise, teacher, you are again ready to have whole- year sacrifice, self-confidence, energetic mind, and your devoted time to do your task faithfully.
Being a teacher, you can follow suggestions to spend your time properly and wisely.
- Think that you are a missionary and not a businessman or a businesswoman. If you are a missionary, you are serving the Lord while you are teaching the pupils.
- Prepare everything before you sleep so that you could sleep soundly when you’re your has been done and well finished.
- Keep your teaching lively and artistic. As a teacher, you can act as an artist so that you can get the interest of your students.
- Use real objects if possible especially in Science and Technology and in Mathematics and in other subjects.
- Be understanding to your students. If they have problems, you should help them in such a way that they become friendly to you.
- Be a friend, not an enemy to your pupils. If you make a decision, make it firm. Praise them if they have done a nice thing and encourage them to make beautiful acts. Never scold them every day for their shortcomings and mistakes. Love them.
- Keep in mind the focus of each lesson. Know the purpose of your lesson so as to help your pupils to attain what you really want.
- Know your pupils from the very start of your class or lesson especially class.
These eight suggestions may help you if you will do these at the very start of your teaching job.
You might say that teaching is a very hard job and very boring. For me teaching is a very interesting and enjoyable even though I may never become rich in this teaching profession. It is a mission by which you can help people to love others.
Teaching is loving God and helping your fellowmen.
