The teacher who is the prime factor in molding the youth has significant role in learning and behavior of the children. Managing a classroom is more challenging and demanding because the learners are very vulnerable, whatever mistake is done, it is hard to reconcile. Their future life lies on how they are managed in school.
That is why the Division implemented the new way of checking the attendance of the teachers in order for them to know if the teachers do their task religiously. The biometrics attendance system replaced manual checking of attendance in all schools in the Division of Bataan. This biometric attendance system was implemented by the Division to develop discipline in teaching and non-teaching staff of schools.
With its implementation, everybody is fair. When you came or leave early or late the biometrics would speak of your punctuality. When a teacher is absent, he/she would be registered absent. No excuses. If you do not want experience salary deductions because of under time or absences, then go and respect official time for work.
Coming to school early would give you ample time to prepare for the teaching – learning process. This includes, preparing the board work, instructional materials and ensuring a safe, clean and motivating learning environment. Being prepared is a must for when you start working you will not get bored waiting for the time to logout and log back in for work.
Pupils are also most benefited for with their teachers’ presence it would mean there will be someone to teach them and guide them through the day.
Lastly, biometrics system also helps the school administrators. It became easier for them to monitor who among their teachers are always late, absent and skipping classes. And mostly, he/she cannot favor anybody not to report tardiness and absences. Thus, biometric system is a good way to discipline the employees.
