Various learning areas are comprehensively studied in MAPEH. They are music, art, physical education and health. Lessons discussed in these learning areas are all based in the curriculum approved by the Department of Education.

As in music, there are suggested activities to be done both by the teachers and students. In learning music, the teacher presents the concepts and elements of music. Likewise studied here are the different kinds of musical instruments. It will also enrich the students’ understanding of music and inspire them to listen to good Philippine music.

Music, however, is a universal language. It has no boundaries. People all over the world express their feelings through music. Once we appreciate music, we can eventually explore the beauty of music. Metaphorically, we can travel the different parts of the world through music.

It can be also be remembered that music plays a vital role in one’s culture, for it is a part of the daily activities of the people. Music is used for worship, courtship, for easing up hard work, and dimply for giving pleasure or entertainment. Each musical activity is more than just singing songs for the rituals, or expressing oneself and others, or dancing and playing instruments. It is closely related to every aspect of their lives.

As in our Filipino culture, music teachers have come to devise or make the musical instrument made of bamboo. The so-called Bamboo Ensemble popularly known Angklung in BNHS  is appreciated region wide. This Bamboo Ensemble is composed of 15-20 member- players. The ensemble can play Kundiman or Pandanggo using Angklung. Foreigners and tourist appreciate learning and watching students play Angklung .

Also better interpreted by Bataan National High School Dance Troupe is the city’s celebration of  Ibong Dayo Festival. Here student-dancers imitate birds’ gestures through dances.

Music and dance, all together, were  performed by BNHS selected students to the delight of our guests particularly Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and the officers and member of the League of City Mayors of the Philippines when they visited Balanga City last March 2014.
