The annual Brigada Eskwela event sparked a surge of excitement and community engagement across the Philippines, as parents, teachers, students, and local volunteers gathered to prepare schools for the forthcoming academic year. Brigada Eskwela 2023, which will take place from August 14 to 19, 2023, will assume an unprecedented level of engagement and dedication to enhancing the learning environment for the nation’s young.
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide education initiative led by the Department of Education (DepED). The event aims to build a sense of community and collaboration by bringing together many stakeholders to donate their time, resources, and skills to repair and improve public schools before the start of the new school year. It also acts as a platform to promote the value of education and inculcate in individuals a sense of duty to support the growth of high-quality learning institutions.
Communities around the country came alive with the spirit of cooperation and collaboration. Volunteers from many walks of life helped clean schools, paint walls, repair facilities, and freshen up playgrounds. Local businesses and organizations also pitched in, donating much-needed resources like paint, cleaning supplies, and even new furniture and equipment to deserving schools.
With the success of Brigada Eskwela 2023, the Department of Education hopes to carry on this tradition in the future, strengthening Filipino relationships and fostering a brighter future for the nation’s young.
