The traditional concept of Brigada Eskwela in schools during the previous years have only evolved from a week-long cleaning-up and beautification exercise. In this activity, students, teachers, school officials, parents, community members, local government officials, non-government organizations, church groups, and the private sector are enjoined for a one mission, and that is to respond to the needs of the children. But due to the corona virus outbreak wherein everybody is affected, the new concept of idea is done to ensure that learning will continuously apply even in the time of COVID-19.
Prior the opening of distance classes, all schools have created tools and strategies on how to build effort so that the internal and external stakeholders will do their part for the continuity of learning. Virtual meetings are conducted with the community partners and engaged them to understand the importance of “bayanihan”. It is an extraordinary approach because different factors are needed to consider as it is required and protocol to meet the health standards for social distancing and proper hygiene.
Different strategies are utilized in order to engage partners and other stakeholders like posting the BE Activities on facebook, putting banner in two barangays, informing people thru virtual announcement, acknowledging donors by posting their names on facebook. In this way, the assurance to encourage the alumni, NGO’s, LGU and other business groups to rendering their skills, support and assistance will achieve. However, this is also an opportune time to show their gratefulness in return to the service given by the school to their children. Perhaps, the activity where the school is ministering would be for the welfare of both the institution and the community.
