In any part of the country countless cases of bullying inevitably happens. Every day hundreds of young peoplewake up afraid to go to school and find it hard to continue their aspirations in life.Bullying is one of the major problems that affect hundreds or even millions of students, and it haseveryone worried, not just the kids on its receiving end—traumatic experiences which may serve as the consequences. Yet because teachers, parents/guardians and other adults don’t always see bullying scenarios, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get. More than that, how it will damage the total personality of the person being bulliedBullying is the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate or aggressively to impose domination over others. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. One essential prerequisite is the perception, by the bully or by others, of an imbalance of social or physical power. Behaviors used to assert such domination can include verbal harassment or threat, physical assault or coercion, and such acts may be directed repeatedly towards particular targets. Justifications and rationalizations for such behavior sometimes include differences of class, race, religion, gender, sexuality, appearance, behavior, or ability. If bullying is done by a group, it is called mobbing. The target of bullying is sometimes referred to as a “victim”.
Bullying is when an individual is picked on over and over again by an individual or group with more power, either in terms of physical strength or social standing. There are so many factors why this problem happens and repeatedly committed by bullies but two of the main reasons why people are bullied are because of appearance and social status.
Bullies pick on the people they think don’t fit in in the group, maybe because of how they look, how they act (for instance, teens who are timid and withdrawn), their race and culture or religion, or because the bullies think their target may be gay or lesbian .In the society, people who are homosexuals or bisexualsfind no escapes from this problem. Some bullies attack their targets physically, which can mean anything from shoving or tripping to punching or hitting, or even sexual assault. Others use psychological control or verbal insults to put themselves in charge. For example, people in popular groups or cliques often bully people they categorize as different by excluding them or gossiping about them (psychological bullying). They may also taunt or tease their targets (verbal bullying).
Verbal bullying can also involve cyber bullying— sending cruel or sarcastic texts, messages, or posting insults about a person on Facebook or other social sites.Bullying can be defined in many various ways. Currently, in some countries, there has no legal definition of bullying, while some states have laws against it. Bullying consists of four basic types of abuse – emotional (sometimes called relational), verbal, physical, and cyber. It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as intimidation.Bullying ranges from simple one-on-one bullying to more complex bullying in which the bully may have one or more “supporters” who may seem to be willing to assist the primary bully in his or her bullying activities. Bullying in school and the workplace is also referred to as peer abuse.A bullying culture can develop in any context in which human beings interact with each other. This includes school, family, the workplace, home, and neighborhoods. Today cases of bullying are alarming because more and more teens are being victimized and it is sometimes difficult to control for the fact that the victims choose to become silent of everything they experience in the hands of bullies. Cases are also getting more serious that these may result to a lifetime trauma.
