Reading is one of the most fascinating activities man can ever do. At present, children’s love for reading is disappearing. Children nowadays prefer to watch television, play video games, computers and the like rather than spend time reading books. This was brought by the modern technology that influences have taught the youth to neglect reading.

            Teachers get tired reminding their pupils to read, read and read their books at home. This results to poor reading abilities and comprehension, poor diction and vocabulary. This situation is very alarming. We cannot get away ourselves to get involved with some advance technology  but let’s not forget to get our books and read them or better yet to visit our school library, sit down and read books. Through reading , we can learn culture of other people from different places,  go faraway places and most of all help us acquire knowledge and information and apply them to our everyday life.

            We can win back our love for reading through the help of our parents and teachers. Reading develops not only the physical, mental, emotional but also the moral and spiritual aspect of the child.

            It will lead us to our fullest development. Let’s start reading at home. It’s fun and at the same time beneficial.

            According to an eHowContibutor, when children use their imaginations while reading the lovable characters like Harry Potter and Winnie the Pooh, these heroes become timeless and extra special. Reading to your children is the first step in helping them develop a lifelong love of books. Start easily and their journey will go from laughing to admiring courageous figures in most novels.
