City Junior Rescuers are designed and organized to fully undergo to a first aid training which can be utilized by the school in case of accidents. They are responsible in bridging the gap between the victim and the physician.
In order to ensure the proper performance of the CJR, the School Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinator should conduct training for school safety and preparedness. The coordinator can invite resource speakers so that proper information will be given in accordance to the standard first aid guidelines.
Subsequently, the roles and characteristics of the first aider is important for the CJR to have a deep knowledge for the advance medical care and services. The actual conduct of first aid treatment and rescue can also be demonstrated to the members so that in times of emergency these young kid-rescuers can be utilized because of the knowledge they have gained during training.
