Yes, you are a good teacher. You have a good poised. You are fluent in English and Filipino languages. You are a good provider. All materials in teaching are well prepared. You use visual aids, modern technologies like computer ad internet. You can deliver your topics knowledgeable and skillfully.
But…If your students are very noisy, if they are not listening, in other words, they are undisciplined, your preparations are useless. Why? It is useless because the objective of teaching is to gain learnings in the part of the pupils. How these pupils learn when they are not listening?
That’s why classroom management is very important. We have to inculcate the discipline to our pupils first before we teach the lessons. They should know how to listen attentively when teachers are teaching.
There are different ways in disciplining pupils. Firts, set classroom rules and regulations. Second, sate do’s and dont’s during discussion time. Third, enumerate some rules during performing tasks. We have to explain to our pupils the importance of discipline. Discipline will lead to learnings. Pupils should understand that they are in the school to learn, to earn something and to gain values, knowledge and skills.
