Clerk is restricted to a specific, fairly low rank in theadministrative hierarchy.[1] This definition is also how people see clerk in the society. Most of the time, they are despised especially when compared to other occupations. They are oftentimes underrated because of the amount of salary they receive.
But do people really know how to difficult a job of clerk is? Aclerkis awhite-collar workerwho conducts general office tasks, or a worker who performs similar sales-related tasks in aretailenvironment. The responsibilities ofclerical workerscommonly includerecord keeping, filing, staffing service counters, screening solicitors, and other administrative tasks.[2]Clerks may be considered as one of the staff at the bottom of an organization but play an important role. They may not be recognized for a daily job well-done yet their contributions are very vital for an office to be reputed as an organization.From the small details to big details, clerks do their best to keep things organized and in accordance to the protocol and regulations. They ensure that records are properly kept and documents are filed and recorded. They see to it that they can assist their superiors and follow directions which are still under their job description.
No one should underestimate someone who is a clerk. Without them, life at the office will be a mess. Nobody will take a look at a finer details. Everyone must give them recognitions and be proud of them. So no one should say he’s just a clerk. It is a big no.
