Reading is just as essential as physical activity because it teaches the brain to think critically and imaginatively.

As a result, the Department of Education encourages literacy among students. The primary goal of education is to produce proficient readers and lifelong learners. Given this, every school in the country implements the essential methods and interventions to assist struggling readers at the start of each class period.

Considering this, every school in the country adopts the necessary strategies and interventions early in the class to help struggling readers.

To promote literacy skills at the elementary level, teachers create reading programs during the remediation period to enhance the fluency and comprehension level of the learners. In addition, the parent stakeholders in the Division of Bataan create reading corners to make remedial instruction more interesting.

On weekdays, teachers, with the help of parent volunteers, ensure that reading strategies are adapted to each learner’s needs. They practice one-on-one reading, peer reading, reading aloud, and storytelling to hold the children’s interest. Aside from that, they make it a point to frequently combine a traditional style of remedial training and a unique approach of leveraging technology and other online educational resources to keep students’ learning focused.

Indeed, learning to read is possible if everyone is willing to collaborate.
