Guidance counselors play an integral part in the education system. In implementing guidance services to the students it is known that with the aid of the whole school the guidance services will be effective. Collaborating with teacher will provide much greater assurance of the effectivity of the services as they are the ones who interacts with the students on the daily basis.
The whole school approach involves collaboration between guidance counsellors, school management, teachers and resource staff with the guidance counsellor having overall responsibility for guidance planning and delivery of the service in the school.
The teachers, being the able to interact with students, through teaching can educate the students about the guidance services and the program being implemented which they will benefit from.
Teachers have been identified as integral in providing a link for students to information on careers or further education. Through the help of the teachers the students will not only be knowledgeable academically but also have holistic development through the implementation of the guidance programs.
The Guidance counselors and teachers shares the same mission which is to help and provide services that will provide development to the students whether academically, psychologically, and others for the betterment of the students.
