For almost how many months we students have been suffering for this rainy season. A time where a hot mug of chocolate is the best, yet we still understand our responsibilities as students. That’s why whether it rains hard or not, we come to school. But do the authorities understand us too?

I think, for several years, there has been a misconception that college students are waterproof. Come to think that there has already been seven tropical storms that had passed the territory of our country but there has been no suspension of classes aside from Habagat. This season is indeed the most crucial time for school days, opposing the wind, soaking with the heavy rain and restraining against the flooded roads. Yes, preschool to high school students at this moments are already enjoying their hot mug of chocolate. And for us? Still fighting the bad weather.

As college students, we perhaps are able to face this difficulties but when it comes to safety against natural disaster how are we suppose to secure ourselves if we are not home during this troublesome typhoonic times?

According to the DepEd and CHEd if a storm reaches signal number three in area this is a time that colleges and universities will have class suspension. A real indication that they expect too much from college students and that they are too much sure of themselves that we can surpass or overcome natural disasters.

I just wanted to point out our situation under the bias rules of the authorities. This may seem conspicuous but that’s what we wanted, to be notice that we are getting cold too, getting sick and getting wet.
