Traditional teaching and learning paradigms have been shaken by the impact of the integration of information and Communication Technology (ICT) into educational practices. Though no fault of their own, most teachers are not prepared to use computers in teaching.
A new profound integration of new technologies into education will inevitably require from teachers changes in attitude and teaching paradigms. Such changes will oblige them to adapt to new methodological approaches, educational concepts, and management aspects – all of which will have to be set in technology – rich environments.
School systems and their administrators can show their commitment to teachers training for computer literacy by coordinating funding efforts to provide professional in – service training days for computer literacy, create resource centers, provide resource staff especially in software and hardware areas, and devote part of teachers’ meeting to computer literacy.
On having the commitment, the administrators must also deal with context and content of the teachers training program.
