In the long history of attaining quality education, the department of Educaation has provided the Filipino children with excellent mentors from pre-schoolers to successful professionals.
The fast changing trends in the education system is approaching everywhere, whether in schools or in in the business world. Among these, changes were focused on the educational system in our government, especially, we have to compete with other countries in terms of literacy rate. Because of the great impact of globalization in the education system, the governement decided to use computers in education to make life easier for the teachers as well as for the pupils when it comes to the different learning areas as the new K-12 offers. Let’s face the reality that these days every happens in just one click or browse in the internet, and that’s what you called in a “”global way.” Technology made it happen. Everwhere you go, you can see computers, laptops and other modern gadgets used by many people, young and old and even a 5-year old child knows how to open and click their facebook accounts. Children of all ages had their access to the world of google.
Computer education in the Philippines is fortunate in the richness of indigenous culture. We cannot prevent or change the rolling of time and the fast growth of technology as part of our global advancement. Computer technologies are part of the so called “globalization in the global world of education.” But the question is, “Are the goverment ready for these?” Let us face the mere fact that not all the provinces in our country enjoys teh benefits of the modern technologies. Facing the reality that when it comes in supporting the quality education, the goverment lacks amenities for it. Sadly, though the government states that education is in their priority lists, corruption is rampant among other officials that results in “nothing”. There are so many things, in other part of the country, that is being left behind and needs were neglected.
A country’s progress depends merely on the quality of education one’s offered. Take for example the island country of Singapore. It has been awarded as the most competitive country in Asia and belongs on the top when it comes to Science and Mathematics learnings. What made Singapore success? Education!
Knowledge in computer education is a must to every teacher. It helps them to impart what their pupils must leraned using these modern technologies. Teachers must also be challenged by the modernization program offered by the new curriculum for them to be more effective and efficient educator in this modern times but we should not also forsake the values that can be taught in every learner for this is also the key for their success in life and in dealing with the people around them inside and outside the four corners of their classroom.
