This was a heated topic on Senate nowadays as the Senator Tito Sotto and Singer/Actress/ National Youth Commission Chairman Ms. AizaSeguerrahavea rounds of exchanged comments regarding the matter. Both has a justifiable points and reasons so as to what step should we implement, to give out condoms or just keep it on the shelves?

As a Nurse, Mother and a Teacher, I honestly just want to stick on the stand of the Roman Catholic Church about Life and Conception that life is morally important.

Being a Mother, it is our primary responsibility to instill to our child the moral values and responsibilities while they are growing up. They will become the reflection of us being the parent. It is our job to nurture them with all the positive and Christian values so they could better logically think and understand the social, moral, spiritual, physical, and emotional issues that they will deal later on to their lives without having to consult us being the parents assuming they will have to face issues like premarital sex or sex education.  If we properly equip them the substance of their existence being a good Christian, we could comfortably sit and smile on our home knowing that our child could never go wrong with regards to living their lives to the will of the Lord.

As a Nurse, of course, we are educated on the proper use of several Contraceptive Methods widely available in the country as well as its Pros and Cons as to the health of every individual. I must say that because of the advancement of the technology today, our youths knew things that we are not aware, they already knew. Some millennials are more curious now than our generation because of the things that they can see limitless around them. And in that manner, I can say that that is the absolute reason why Millennials now are very aggressive and curious. Educating them of something delicate like sex education where in fact not all of the students were aware of is out of the line. You can make or break someone’s curiosity about sex at that very young age and we can never tell what will be the effect out of it to some students.

And finally, being a Science teacher, I would rather educate and instill to them the benefits of Reproductive Health with simultaneous giving them an insights regarding the current trends today of teenage pregnancy resulting to early separation out of curiosity and aggressiveness at their age. I would help them realize things that actually happening and is happening without having to reveal something about safe sex and etc.
