The history of condom goes way back 11,000 BC. In the 1800s the first rubber condom was made. And in the 1980s it was promoted to use due to the AIDS epidemic. Condom has a long history but until now, legalization of it is one of the hot topics of today. On the one side, there is the church and its followers, on the other side is the government who is giving free condoms on high school students. People opposed to it said that it will only promote safe sex. Distributing it along with sex education is one way to prevent it.
Several school districts have recently started giving students condoms after counseling them on safe sex. And based on their personal experiences, nurses and social workers at those schools say they believe their programs do protect some students from AIDS and pregnancy and, through counseling about abstinence, convince some others to defer sexual activity.
Adolescent stage is where the sexual curiosity of a person is at its highest, they have lots of questions that they want to ask and knowledge that they want to learn but they are afraid to ask their parents due to the fear of being reprimanded. And it is the duty of the school to guide them and teach them about the importance of condom and contraceptives on what is safe sex and the risk of having STD and HIV. And with our booming population, this will be the first step to prevent early pregnancies among teens.
