The school is a significant unit in the society and it is just essential that a positive attitude towards it must be created most especially on the part of the learners.
The teacher must consider the following suggestions and recommendation in order to help learners create positive attitude towards the school:
School as Second Home. The school must serve as the second home for the schoolchildren. It is a place where they also find comfort, safety and happiness. The teacher must promote a place where the child may willingly express what they think and feel.
Lead by Example. The teacher must emanate a good example to the students. He/she should be the epitome of good character and reputation. Moreover, he/she exemplify love and respect for everyone. The teacher should exhibit good leadership among the students in the class.
Sing Praise. The teacher must show appreciation or recognition to all the efforts of the learners whether big or small. He/she should try to uplift the moral of the learners by commending their works, achievements or accomplishments.
Let them Excel. By means of considering the multiple intelligences of the child, he/she may eventually grow and excel. The school may be more positive if it leads the child to succeed. The school must be the place where the child finds the opportunity to be what he/she wants to be.
Explain Relevance. It is best practice if the teacher explains the significance, importance or application of learning to the students. Positive attitude towards school can be achieved if the learners think and feel that what they are doing has a real value or worth to them.
Eliminate Fears. The teacher must keep the school child-friendly. The learners should be free from worries and be free from bullying and any other forms of harm or hazard. Also, the teacher should of course create a pleasant image to the students.
Build friendship among the learners. The learners would be more positive in going to school if their peers are friendly. The teacher should encourage the learners to be nice and kind to each other. Furthermore, they should consider themselves as brothers and sisters in the school.
The school should be the center of learning, the second home for the learners, a place where they receive recognition, an institution where they find good examples and friends and a venue that is free from harm.
Creating a positive attitude towards the school is possible primarily done through the effort of the teacher.
