In teaching elementary students teaching involves controlling learning and thinking. The learners don’t have their own techniques on remembering. They are slowly discovering what will make learning easier for them. And that’s where the teacher will connect to them.

  1. 1.Make sure that the ideas you are giving as a teaching will interest them or something they can understand. If the students thought they will be good at one thing may it be academic or hobby they enjoy working hard at it. At some way they think they own it and will be the best at it. Make sure that the learning will be useful to them on their everyday lives.
  2. 2.Respect the students learning pattern. Not all students have the same speed for learning. Every time you will jump from topic to another make sure everyone is in the same page. You may need to ask others more often but make sure that you do it seamlessly. Always remember good teaching is always making things easier to learn. Frightening students will not make you a good teacher. Remember that you are there to teach the students, help them learn and make them understand things easier to understand.
  3. 3.Evaluate you students. You will know how they took the lesson when you evaluate them. It doesn’t mean pen and paper kind of evaluation, because not all students are good in written exams. You can make it discussion like or to make it more fun for the students you can have an enjoyable activity.
  4. 4.Articulate clear goals in teaching. The students should know what they need to learn in the very beginning of the lesson. Tickle their mind and make them want to ask questions to understand the lesson more.
  5. 5.Independence. Have activities that will make the students to the learning all by themselves. Always check your motives; you are not doing it because you are a lazy teacher. Make sure you are doing it because you are helping your students to formulate they own techniques and to make sure that they will be an independent learner.
