DEVELOPING A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE: TEACHERS’ GUIDE TO PROBLEMS

Teachers are also human being.  As such, everyone is subjected to different problems as part of existence and as part of being normal.  Viewed as superpersons, teachers need to exhibit  exceptional abilities to rise above the challenges.  How they do it, these are simple guide to coping up with the problems through positive mental attitude.

            1.  Generally, solving problems depend on one’s attitude and acceptance of the situation.  Positive mental attitude helps us solve the problems at hand.  What seems to be unsolvable can be resolve through the right attitude.

            2.  Define the problem clearly.  Merely thinking abaout it will do no good.  Have a mind-set on its nature.

            3.  Divide and conquer your problems.  Inter-related problems can  easily be solved if we try to isolate them one another.

            4.  Organize your thoughts and decide which should be address first.  Solving all problems at a time will consume your energy.

            5.  Weigh all solutions possible before you decide on the course of action to take.  If possible, list all the positive and negative factors and eliminate conflicting factors.

            6.  Choose the best course of action and begin with the task.

            7.  Do not stop once you have started.  Make the right decision as teachers are known to always come up with the right decision.

            8.  Be determined and keep an eye on success.  You cannot choose the problem, but certainly, you can always choose the right response to the problem.

These simple guides all boils to one’s development of a positive mental attitude.  This is what everyone should have in the system.  All all problems can be properly addressed if we have that attitude. 

The next time you encounter a problem, be positive. We can do it because we are teachers. We are the modern superheroes.
