Our country has history of leaders who used their positions to satisfy their personal motives.  This is why good leaders with a genuine heart of service is hard to find nowadays.  As a developing country, we need a new breed of leaders who will anchor us to development and progress.

The school is a great venue to develop our future leaders.  It is not only a place of learning but also it plays a vital role in enhancing the social and leadership skills of the students which will serve as their platform to be the best future leaders of our nation.

Thru the DepEd Order no. 24, s.2007 or the Institutionalization of the Supreme Pupil/Student Government (SPG and SSG) in All Elementary and Highschool Nationwide, public and private schools all over the country are now mandated to implement this kind of program.  The SPG and SSG is the highest level of pupil/student organization in school governance in order to help promote the welfare of entire pupil/student population.  Its objectives are to develop love of God and country, moral character, personal discipline, leadership potentials, self-confidence and initiative among the pupils; to train pupils and students for effective and efficient leadership; to establish programs and projects that will promote goodwill, unity and cooperation between and among pupils; serve and protect pupil’s rights and welfare; to contribute to school aspirations to promote quality education and academic excellence and to represent the pupil population in the policy-making body of the school concerning pupils’ welfare.

The SPG and SSG have different mandated programs and projects which can be implemented in their respective schools under the guidance of the teachers and administrators.  Such project shall includeClean and Green Campaigns, Environmental Programs, Health Campaigns, English Speaking and Reading Campaigns, BrigadaEskwela and Leadership Trainings.

With this kind of program, our youth will be exposed in improving their skills in governance.  Most especially, at an early age they are molded to righteous values such as honesty and integrity which are indispensable to be a good leader.
