As school head dealing with different person he must know how to entertain school guest with his good communication skills.
  2. Delegation skills– He must know how to properly delegate responsibilities to school heads, non-teaching staff and teachers so that every school personnel should function effectively even he is not around at the same time he can utilized their talent and skills needed in order to accomplish school projects and programs.
  3. Supervision skills– As principal he need to supervise every projects and programs of the school to make sure of a good results or outcome. He can do it by close monitoring if everybody in charged are doing their duties to accomplish the target goal.
  4. Guidance skills– As school head you will encounter different kinds of problem that you need to deal and solve properly. You need to guide your subordinate properly by setting a good example of desired values and behavior and exercise fairness and honesty at all times.
  5. Skills in directing– A principal is like a conductor of an orchestra where every musician must perform well for the perfect rendition of a musical piece. In school setting a principal must give directions and instructions clearly so that everybody will do their work correctly. Misleading instructions and orders may create confusion that will result to accomplishing the work incorrectly.
  6. Skills in motivation– A teacher employs motivation to bring out the interest of the students towards the lesson. He adopts different forms of motivation jus to keep the learners focus and actively participate in any activities that could help in facilitating learning. Principal also needs to adopt and apply motivation of any forms that could influence his/her subordinates in order to function efficiently and productively.
  7. Skills in human relations– The key to effective leadership depends on the quality of relationship with the people that surround him. People don’t care about the knowledge the leader possesses until they know and understand how much he cared for them. To develop a good relationship the principal must know how to get along, talk to them to know their problems and must learn how to bend to their levels to easily understand them.
