Unacceptable behavior of students may be temporary or long lasting. This makes the job of the teacher as classroom manager difficult because he is tasked to look into the proper classroom behavior of his learners. It is difficult for him to execute his lessons everyday if some of his pupils are noisy, quarrelsome, inattentive, transfer to one seat to another, sleeps and are hyperactive. Sometimes, he gets impatient in teaching due to disruptive behavior of students during class session.

However, as molder of young learners, he has to face the problem of identifying the disruptive behavior of his pupils and help them overcome these problems.

Recent studies showed that behavioral problems make up a part of the daily classroom concern. Even though behavioral problems are natural and a part of the growing up process of youth, disruptive behavior of  students inside the classroom or during the class sessions is one of the major problems that the teachers have to face in trying to create an effective classroom environment. Students with disruptive behavior cannot or will not adjust to the social norms of behavior and consequently disrupt their own academic progress, the learning efforts of their classmates and interpersonal relations .

Among the reasons mentioned in the same study why  male students have disruptive behaviors among males are listed below:

  • Male students tend to cheat because they don’t know the answer to questions being

asked, they are afraid to fail and they want to get high scores.

  • They quarrel because sometimes they envy their classmates who have high

scores and they disagree with opinions of their classmates.

  • They are also discourteous because sometimes they wanted to seek attention

from their teachers.

  • They are restless because sometimes the topic taught by the teacher is not

interesting and they are bored.

  •  Sometimes they are not comfortable in their seats hence, they transfer from one

seat to another and sometimes they also hate their seatmate.

The probable cause of disruptive behavior of the girls are the following:

  • Girls sometimes cheat because they wanted to get high scores, they don’t know
  • They sometimes quarrel because they envy their classmates who have high

the answer and they are afraid to fail.

  • Sometimes they are restless because they are bored but seldom do they behave

even if the topic is not interesting or they wanted to be recognized.
