Behavioral problems make up a part of the daily classroom concern. Even though

behavioral problems are natural and a part of the growing up process of youth, disruptive behavior of pupils inside the classroom or during the class sessions is one of the major problems that the teachers have to face in trying to create an effective classroom environment. Pupils with

disruptive behavior cannot or will not adjust to the social norms of behavior and consequently

disrupt their own academic progress, the learning efforts of their classmates and interpersonal

relations.

The unacceptable behavior of pupils may be temporary or long lasting. This makes the job of the teacher as classroom manager difficult because he is tasked to look into the proper classroom behavior of his pupils. It is difficult for him to execute his lessons everyday if some of his pupils are noisy, quarrelsome, inattentive, transfer to one seat to another, sleeps and are hyperactive. Sometimes, he gets impatient in teaching due to disruptive behavior of pupils during class session. However, as molder of young learners, he has to face the problem of identifying the disruptive behavior of his pupils and help them overcome these problems.

The probable causes of disruptive behaviors are the following:

  • Boys sometimes cheat because they don’t know the answer to questions being
  • They quarrel because sometimes they envy their classmates who have high
  • They are also discourteous because sometimes they wanted to seek attention
  • They are restless because sometimes the topic taught by the teacher is not
  • Sometimes they are not comfortable in their seats hence, they transfer from one
  • Girls sometimes cheat because they wanted to get high scores, they don’t know the answer and they are afraid to fail.
